Getting Here
Driving from Vancouver
To drive to Tofino from the Lower Mainland, you’ll first have to first take a ferry to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. You can do this one of two ways. The Tsawwassen ferry terminal, just south of Vancouver, is most convenient if you’re coming from Vancouver International Airport. That ferry takes just over 2 hours and arrives at Duke Point, a few minutes south of Nanaimo. The Horseshoe Bay terminal in West Vancouver, is closer to downtown Vancouver. That ferry takes just under 2 hours and arrives at Departure Bay in Nanaimo.
Driving from Seattle
From Seattle, you can take a ferry to Victoria then travel north on Highway 1 to Nanaimo. Or you can drive north from Seattle to Tsawwassen, just across then U.S.-Canada border, then take the ferry to Duke Point in Nanaimo.
